Why Brain vs Me™?
Why Brain vs Me™? Because I got tired of reading self-help advice written like a Pinterest quote board.
Everywhere I looked, it was toxic positivity, 10-step solutions, and people pretending like they had it all figured out. Meanwhile, I was stuck in a cycle of overthinking, burnout, and wondering why my brain wouldn’t just cooperate for once.
This isn’t a self-help site. It’s a space for real talk.
So I built Brain vs Me™—not as an answer, or self-help site, but as a space for the real stuff. The messy, honest, relatable parts of mental health and personal growth. The parts where therapy is weird, ADHD is chaos, parenting is confusing, and being human is just… a lot.
If you’re over the polished version of self-improvement and just want to feel seen—welcome. Here, we overanalyze, spiral, laugh, learn, and maybe even grow… together.
Brain vs Me™ is about the push-and-pull of living inside a brain that won’t shut up. It’s about overthinking, ADHD, therapy, relationships, identity, and the exhausting rollercoaster of being a human with feelings.
Podcast
If your inner voice had a microphone, this is what it would sound like.
Each week, I crack open the messy parts of mental health—ADHD, anxiety, burnout, therapy spirals—and try to make sense of it all without pretending to have it figured out.
This podcast isn’t self-help. It’s self-honesty.It’s about saying the things we actually think but don’t always admit out loud—and finding a little relief, humor, and insight in the process.

About Me
My name is Joshua Ericson
Author. Podcaster. Tech leadership nerd. Overthinking enthusiast.
I write about mental health, self-awareness, parenting, marriage, ADHD, and all the emotional chaos that makes us human. Through books, blogs, and the Brain vs Me podcast, I turn my inner mess into something useful (or at least funny).
Welcome to the chaos. Let’s figure it out together.

Meet the Team
I couldn't make this happen without the "contributions" of my team.
